In the very southwest corner of Bolivia is the Eduardo Avaroa Andean Fauna National Reserve, full of beautiful mountains and lakes, vicuñas and other wildlife, and flamingos. Lots of flamingos. Three different species: the Andean flamengo, the Chilean flamingo, and the rarer James flamingo. All three species may be found together at the colorful Laguna Colorada.
I spent a very cold night at a mirador above Laguna Colorado. Spectacular sunset and sunrise. But cold. I was happy to find a nice hot springs along the road the next morning. Also explored a geyser field along the beautiful, remote drive to the Chilean border.
