Heading from La Selva to Puerto Viejo de Talamanca, I spent the night at a campground called Caribbean Rainforest Sloth. It was a pleasant surprise. It is owned and managed by a very nice man named Jose. He has created a little piece of heaven populated by a plethora of fauna and flora. He used to work driving tourists from cruise ships that docked in Limon, but when the pandemic hit, he was out of work. Then he started working on his little organic farm and haven for sloths, frogs, birds, and campers. He is very proud of what he has created. When I first arrived, he took me around and showed me all the different plants and fruits he is growing (see the baby pineapple). He has a log that he puts fruit on for all the birds, and what a diversity of birds that come. Such beautiful colors. He has sloths that hang out in his trees. Such fun to watch them. At night we went hunting for frogs and other creatures. He is such a nice and friendly person. It's too bad I had to leave early the next morning.
